Attack of the News Interruptions . . . .

I am VERY VERY irritated. Warning . .. several rants coming.

Yesterday I figured that I best get my ass in gear and make this banner of Jonathan and Tammy that I'm supposed to work on (it's due Thursday at the latest). First of all, let me begin by saying that I had no idea how to even start this banner - at all. I had the pics ready, but of course any banner maker knows (or creative person) - you need direction. Did I? Nope. I started on my mission with my canvas and I started placing the pics in a row. I notice immediately that not all 6 pics is going to fit in that danky ass size. Wonderful. Add to that, it was coming out TOO pink. So, I close it out and begin to look through my various all ready made textures that I have. I found the PERFECT one. So, there I am working on this masterpiece (at least I think it was). I was working on the 6th and final picture when stupid ass Photoshop said that it had an error and would be closing the program down. Yep - that's right. My hard work GONE. GOOOOOOOOOONE. *cries*sniff*cries* Stupid piece of shit, I tell you. I was going to start again, but it was close to midnight. Never went back.

And then there is today. . . . I go to work like every other hard working person. And I deal with noisy, impolite kids all day. You'd think that when I leave work and head out to "The Madness" and leave the VCR running to tape my favorite soap (and hopefully my favorite couple) that I'd come home to a tape that is still running smoothly without a problem. Wrong. Not today. I walk into the door and the first thing I do is look towards the television (my dad was home without my mom who could monitor the tv, she was picking me up from work) and I see that the news is on. Funny. It SHOULD be GL. I look at the bottom of the screen to see what channel he has it on (I don't want to yell at him for changing it unless I have my facts straight) and I notice that it is indeed on CBS (2). I then look at the headline and it says "Power Outages". In that moment my mind goes to terrorist attack but it is quickly excused when at that moment the news anchor says that it happened because some dumbass cut the wrong power line and in his attempt to repair it, paired it up with the WRONG cord. Idiot, I tell you. So Downtown L.A. had blackouts. Wonderful.

What is my gripe you ask? Besides the obivous that it interrupted daytime television and my show, what was the reason that it had to be carried out on all major networks? (ABC, CBS, NBC) This "coverage" lasted roughly an hour and a half. Why? If it wasn't a terrorist attack and thus life threatening or life shattering, then why THAT MUCH coverage? Why not just have it scroll at the bottom of the television letting people know? It's not like the people who lost power will be watching it. It pisses me off the lack of respect that daytime television gets. Can you imagine them breaking in during primetime with that crap? We have a lot of car chases here in California. Why do we never see them and get interrupted for those? To me, those are more important because who knows where the "driving lunatic" is going to go? Right? It gives you warning to stay indoors and not to go outside.

*bangs head*

So I did what anyone would do. I wrote a very angry letter to cbs. I feel a *little* better. :)

Sorry for the long rant. :/
