I suppose now that people's attentions are diverted elsewhere, I might as well say that Dodger's been arrested again. It happened a few weeks ago -- in York, of all places. It wasn't for stealing this time, either ( Read more... )

Merlin's beard. What did he do this time?

They think he murdered Old Boy.

Good heavens, how ghastly.

Dodger must have had a lot to gain through that forced marriage, to have lost his rag like that. And knowing what the goblins are like, I must say he's better off in Azkaban than facing their very unusual methods of vengeance.

Sounds like the last two weeks have been better for you than they were for me. Life back to normal then?

If one considers having their father back in prison normal, then I suppose so.

And how are you bearing up amidst your "crumbling" situation?

Normal or not, things seem easier for you when he's locked up.

I've had an exhausting week and thank Merlin we didn't have a match yesterday. In some ways you could say Jordan did us a favour, but having it come out like this is far from ideal.

Looking at Old Boy, one might say things are easier for everyone when he's away.

Thank Merlin someone was finally arrested for the murder of your late fiance. I'm sure that your heart is soothed by knowing there will be some justice. I never would have suspected your father, yet it makes a strange amount of sense.

Dinner this week?

I'd be interested in dinner, Blaise. There are some things which I think could use discussing. Are you feeling any more balanced now after your terrible week?

Much better. Would you and Tracey like to come round on Friday evening? Cynthia would love to see the both of you.

There are of course a few topics that we will need to discuss without the ladies, but I'm sure if they put their pretty heads together they'll figure out we are just talking about them.

It's terribly unfortunate, what happened to your father. But, he must face up to what he did, even if it was in an attempt to help you.

Poor Old Boy, having a friend turn against him like that, nasty business.

Can I come over to see you today at all? I want to discuss something with you.

Give men tempers, potions, and spirits, combine it with a building grudge, and this is the outcome.

Of course you may come over. You're always welcome in Gran's house. And there's no one for you to avoid now

Too true, sadly. I'm actually midly surprised Blaise and I have never attempted to kill each other, given our fondness for potions and our varying moods.

Anyway, I shall pop round later. I've grown too bored of fighting off Miss Jernigan, and I really should start getting out of the house more often. I may as well be back in the mudpit for all I have done these last weeks. Still, the thing I want to talk to you about could prove most interesting for me, for us both, perhaps.

Perhaps it is because you an Blaise are actually friends, rather than just gambling mates.

Oh? Consider my curiosity piqued, then.
