That's a small part of what a church should be; serving others in ways like that :)

I just realized that when I orginally said hello to you, I didn't actually add you as a friend. Oops. I have remedied that now, hope you don't mind.

And I completely agree: I love matching someone up with something that I don't wear anymore. It's so much more fulfilling then just Goodwilling it or--gasp--throwing it away.

Thank you for adding me as a friend!

Now I get to ask you something I've been wondering ever since I was introduced to LJ (by sirjake). Are you related to savetheolives? :-D

I have heard such wonderful things about y'all's church, and this just adds to the list. Derick and Lisal McDonald were friends of ours when we live in Austin (Reminds self to call Lisal...). Derick even baptized our daughter! Anyhow, if classical schools that want a terrific Greek and Latin teacher start up in the area, make sure you remember to drop us a line! :o)

Oh! We sure miss Derick and Lisal! Did you just move recently, if Derick baptized your daughter? (She's a real cutie, btw!)

I wish a classical school would start up in our area, but I don't expect it anytime soon. My daughter "ladyharriet" has always been interested in attending New St.Andrew's.

So you all were at the Advance 2002 with Jake? Were you married at the time?

(I always say--it's a small world when you're reformed!)

We moved the last week of July, when Kate was just 3.5 weeks old! Derick did a terrific job baptizing Kate. Redeemer has no sr. pastor right now, so we asked Derick (well, he volunteered!) to baptize Kathryn Lilia, our little child of the covenant, and it was one of the neatest baptisms on record at Redeemer. I'm glad we have a tape.

The classical school Mike teaches at in Richmond has almost 200 students in its fifth year... in an area with good public schools and a very saturated private school market. If families get together and just do it, schools materialize! Maybe a boy's school for Carbondale? Just call us! We'd love to be in a paedocommuning church community someday...

The Advance in 2002 was only the second time my husband and I met. We were already pretty smitten, and were married that August. He actually shared a condo with Jake then...

It's a small, small (reformed) world!

I grew up wearing handmedowns... Every now and then I'd have a dress of my own, but usually it was handmedowns. It didn't bother me, really, because I looked like a bean pole regardless what I wore... hehe...
