Answer #2: I return home from jogging and discover the house is empty of people, but filled with smoke. Exciting.... yah. But that's nothing compared to the time I tried to make black-berry cobbler in the microwave and, remembering that I cooked it for 15 minutes in my little Easy-Bake Oven (which cooks over a light bulb), I, naturally, put it in for fifteen minutes. But I didn't do that last week, I swear....

Ohhh, Rita, that brings back memories... Ermm, not that I've ever done anything like that... Never. *ahem*

I'm going to leave now.

Hmm... 2 out of 2 entries have to do with smoke smells... Coincidence? I think not! :-)

Oh, and hi! I'm Katherine--yet another friend Jake ordered to come say hello!

P.S. If you ever have problems getting your littlest to sleep and Jake's there...enlist him! He's a great baby bouncer! :oD

Hello Mrs. ... Tom! :-D I'm happy to finally be able to speak to you directly for once. Hehe. Welcome to Live Journal!!

Oh my. Microwaves can be dangerous instruments when they get into the wrong hands. I've witnessed similar things with my siblings. Stovetops can be that way too; I will forever have a mental picture stuck in my head from the time my 2-year-old brother (he was about 1 1/2 at the time) found chocolate syrup cooking on the stove. We caught him with a spoon five minutes later, flinging chocolate all over the kitchen!! He did manage to get some in his mouth though. Never a dull moment in big family.

I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you at the end of the month. Lizzy and I have forgotten Christmas is even in December, it so pales in comparison. We do try not to talk about it too much though - our poor family puts up with so much! :-)

Hi, Sarah! We're all very much looking forward to meeting you again, too. Even one of our younger kids said she was looking forward to Jake coming more than Christmas(?????)--that's a good measure the excitement in the air around here!

Hello From Alberta, Canada! :-) pinkertonsnook December 15 2004, 19:06:35 UTC
I had the pleasure of meeting you and Rita at the History Conference in Moscow last February! :-D I also met Jake then, though some of my friends from even farther north in Alberta knew him before that. :-) Great to see you online, too... it can be so handy and enjoyable, eh?! :-)
About microwaves... heh... ours is an over-the-range one and it has not worked for quite some time (and we are in no particular rush to go out and purchase another one at the moment...), so for a little while we just stored treats and baking in it... until dad figured out the secret... LOL :-}

Hi! I do remember you and your sister and mother, and some of your other friends. You were the other tall girls!

Maybe we'll meet again at the Trinity Festival?

Yes indeed, we were the other tall girls :-D *chuckles* We do hope to come to the Trinity Festival, but as of yet I am not informed of the details. Do you have any registering info etc? It would be great fun to meet up with all of you again! :-D
