grad school and LiveJournal

Mar 18, 2008 12:05

If anyone happens to have wandered into my LiveJournal, you might be wondering what happened to all my enthusiasm about House/Wilson chocolaty goodness? I haven't posted a story in months (excepting my little foray into Doctor Who slash), haven't even looked at the communities or the forum, and by all outward appearances, have dropped out of the ( Read more... )

Dear MissViolet,

I'm glad to hear your imagination is still running full-bore and I eagerly await its products. Totally cool about the grad school, no problemo.

By the way, something you said a while ago inspired a title idea for me. I want to write a story about some grown children who discover their mother's livejournal. Title: My Mother the Pornographer.

Ha, that was probably inspired by my mom asking me to reformat her laptop if she kicks off. She's perfectly healthy, BTW, but this conversation was sparked by a soldier in Iraq who was killed and his family insisted on getting his Yahoo e-mail account username and password to read all his e-mails, most of which were sent to his girlfriend. Yahoo, of course, does not surrender this information even to families of deceased persons, and there was a whole big lawsuit and lots of bruised feelings all around. Finally Yahoo was legally compelled to give up the username and password. So I guess my mom was thinking, if there's any question as to whether she'd want us reading her e-mail if something unforseen should happen to her, the answer is No, she would not. I doubt very much my mom cares that I know she and her boyfriend exchange sexy e-mails, but I certainly don't blame her for not wanting me to read them. I'd feel the same way, if I had someone with whom to exchange sexy e-mails. But that's how I feel about my House/Wilson porn; I'd ( ... )

Well, I certainly have the fear that my kids will wander into my slash oevre and just be totally grossed out. And never be able to think of me without horror again. I'm open enough with them that I've been able to say, "never read anything of mine w/o invitation or you will be scarred for life." But, you know, people keel over and things get out.

And I love your work. It's a mystical confluence of your talent and our shared turn-ons, like a hot Venn diagram.

>I'd hate for my family to be putting me in the ground and feeling not only sadness but also shock at my obsession with homosexual pornography about fictional characters.

I bet by the time you kick the bucket, that sort of thing would be as laudable as playing be-bop jazz is today. :)

I took a comp sci class once and wanted to throw myself out the window. Best of luck with everything. =)

Glad you didn't and instead survived comp. sci to write extremely hot and steamy House/Wilson slash (is that a selfish way to express it? Let me add that I'm glad you didn't toss yourself out the window for reasons unrelated to writing slashy goodness!) I love your fics and sorry to have missed the latest but the great thing about LiveJournal is that I can always catch up, which is enormously fun to do with my fave writers.

Thanks for the encouragement; I'll be staying away from windows for awhile :)

Thank you! I appreciate the kind thoughts; this is not the first time school has caused me to temporarily drop out of LJ'ing and yet hardly anyone has de-friended me, so I'm grateful for the f-list's encouragement and support. Thanks ♥

>I wrote a long college story about the boys, a slightly-alternate-universe story in which both of them attended the same university.

LOL... I am working on a novel which started with a similar set-up for two guys heavily inspired by Fry and Laurie...

Thanks, that's awfully nice of you to say so (that my stories are worth the wait!). Sorry it took so long to reply. For some odd reason the professor didn't post this week's assignment to our digital blackboard so I have a rare break - well, I ought to be reading the textbook but I've just spent hours doing all these calculations and so I feel I deserve to read my LJ :)

After writing that college story, I decided I prefer House and Wilson the way I know and love them - their current ages. Then again, I'm never one to stick closely to what's happening on the show; I doubt very much Amber will ever be mentioned in my fics!

I honestly can't say this makes me in any way unhappy. XD

I personally love the idea of jailbait!Wilson - or med school Wilson looking all jailbaity at least - but I'm not sure about actualy storylines... if they hooked up then, how come Wilson kept getting married? I feel like if they ever really got together, it'd be for good.
