Riku sat silent for a moment, to stare at the computer screen. Ruki...Was coming to his apartment. He continued to nod, idely, staring at the screen, before rushing up looking around - he needed to clean! With his friends over it had gotten messy.
"Ah...Ah..." He hummed out, chest racing. He did not like feeling his jitter. He paused for a moment to pick up the telephone, making a special request at a restaurant. The vocalist was glad to know the person who worked there; they stayed open late for friends only. And he, being a valued customer, was a friend who just rarely stopped by during these late night openings. "Yes, that'll be all thank you so much!" he sang into the phone. He hung it up on the base quickly before turning his CD player on, trying to keep him cleaning quickly. The now blonde-haired vocalist made note...to change the CD before too long. He wasn't sure what Ruki would think of him listening to Ayumi Hamasaki! And he didn't like giving bad impressions.
Once his apartment was in decent order - after purposely leaving a few things out, so it would not have looked like he tried to hard to clean, Riku had to answer the door for the meal. He bowed thankfully and paid his normal price, tip included, as well as a smile for his delivery boy. Then a shower. Why was he trying so hard for this meeting of friends? ...Not sure really, but his heart was racing, so he had to satisfy himself and just look...Au natural. Out of the shower, he put on his black rimmed glasses and got into his pajamas. It was good there was some distance between them, he had time to do all of this. Smoke. He needed to smoke before Ruki came over, he wasn't sure if Ruki could handle being around smokers since he was trying to quit. So quickly Riku pulled out his zippo and sat in his leopard print chair, and smoked the hell out of that Neo Cedar, leaning his head back, eyes closed. Fuck. He should have probably tossed his stuffed animal (yes, a dog plushie that was on the coffee table) in his closet. Oh well, if he had time, he would. He inhaled, the smell of take out Chinese wafting into his nose with the scent of his delightful cigerette and his own perfume that was coming from the chair - it had absorbed the smell it would seem. It was also admittedly nice to sit in this state of rush, anxiety. It was an overwhelming feeling...That he had grown occustomed to. And the song of Hamasaki, wasn't so bad to occampany the feelings ethier.
Ruki hummed to himself on the ride over, laughing a little at the sudden turn of events. Just three days ago they were talking awkwardly in a coffee shop - now all of a sudden he was driving all the way to Osaka to stay at this kid's house! Ha, the irony of him saying "kid"...
As the cab pulled up near Riku's place, he stepped out with a "doumo arigatou" and a little shake of his head, handing over the cash and cradling his plastic sack of NON-alcoholic drinks (mostly). He made his way up to the place casually, trying to hide behind a bit of hair but knowing that alone wouldn't save him if anyone who recognised him DID happen to be out this late...Hesitantly, he knocked three times on the door, and hefted the plastic sack into his arms for more stability while waiting. Was that...Hamasaki...?
In a stumble, Riku rushed to his feet, having been interrupted from that moment of bliss.
"Ah, anou, just a moment." He called out, turning off the CD player. Well, perhaps he hadn't heard it. "Yo," Riku said opening the door, smiling up at him for a moment before looking down and turning on his heels to let Ruki come inside. "Welcome home, ne?" Ruki smiled a little and bowed his head in response, laughing a little at the informal greeting and toeing off his shoes quickly in the entryway.
"I brought us drinks!" He lifted the bag for emphasis, nudging the door shut with his foot and following after Riku slowly.
"Good." Riku nodded, cigarette still in one hand. Now he just couldn't waste it, that would be cruel to himself. "I hope you don't mind me finishing it?" he asked, voice unsure, as he locked the door out of habit. When he was home he always locked the door behind himself. Ruki looked up at him, blinking, for a moment.
"Oh...no, of course not," he said, smiling a little. "Just don't let me have any, Kai would throw a shit-fit..." He looked around a bit, somewhat awkwardly, taking in his surroundings as well as finding a place to set the drinks. "Anou...should I put these anywhere, or should I start serving?" Finished with the door, Riku stepped past Ruki, trying to be a better host. He was used to those around him making themselves at home - he must remember, he and Ruki were just becoming friends.
"Set them on the table." He motioned towards the coffee table, picking up the large plush dog and setting it in his leopard print chair. "Also, I got us Chinese. I usually eat from the boxes but I can get plates, if you like." Riku was a fast talker, with an effeminate twang in his voice.
"Okay..." Ruki moved to put the drinks, still in their bag, down, then stretched a little and turned back to Riku. "No, I don't care. Boxes are fine. The food smells so~ delicious...!" Something about Riku made Ruki smile a lot, and he was grinning still as he spoke, looking around. Riku stepped away to get them glasses and chopsticks before walking back towards the coffee table and sitting on a couch cushion. Now it seemed to make sense that it was in front of the coffee table.
"Sit," the vocalist instructed patting next to him. Then he began to remove the take out boxes from their plastic bags. "It's more than delicious, trust me. This shit is godly." Ruki, still smiling, nodded and sat next to the man, eyeing the food now. Dutifully, he unpacked the drinks - strawberry milk, chocolate milk, apple and peach kirin kowai, a small sake and a 6-pack of smirnoff. Okay, so Ruki'd gotten a little bored waiting for the taxi...
"It's strange," he said after a moment, still setting things out. "I hate strawberries, but I like strawberry milk just fine..."
"How can you hate strawberries?" Riku asked, opening each box and setting them out neatly before them so they could easily reach them between the pair. He picked up his chopsticks, handed some to Ruki as well before pressing his hands together, chopsticks between his palms. He closed his eyes and nudge Ruki with his elbow to do the same, such a traditional pose! "Ikatidamasu~"
"Itadakimasu," he followed in the phrase, the amused smile being replaced by a hungry one. He shrugged a little in response after speaking. "Just don't..they're gross, you know?" Eagerly, he reached across Riku for a bite of something random before mixing it with something else much closer, and making a very pleased noise as he chewed. "Oh....this is so~ good! I didn't know how hungry I was!!" he said, not caring about his still somewhat-full mouth.
"Well I guess that is good to know," Riku said also taking bites, closing his eyes as he ate in small bites. Here he was wanting to not eat as much take out, yet he continued to order it. "I thought you would be hungry, being at practice all day and all." Riku prided himself on being a thoughtful person at times. It was important to think of those around you. "Yosh," he said stealing a bite of Ruki's food from his chopstick. He ate it, eyes looking up at the ceiling, at a little angle - he did not just snag the other vocalist's food. Ruki started, blinking at Riku for a moment.
"He~y," he said, playfully, the amused smile returning, edged by an almost-pout from lost food. "That was mine, huh!" He tsked a bit, then shrugged and stole more of the same from in front of Riku. "Not like I'm getting it back now..."
"You could," Riku said leaning his head in the direction Ruki was sitting. "But," he paused for effect lifting one eyebrow "it would not be as pleasant as when it went in." He grinned, sitting back up straight, then leaned over the table taking more small bites of his food. "May I..?" Riku rest his untensils on the edge of the box, and pointed at the bottle of strawberry milk. One hand covering his mouth as he did so, which at times was a nervous habit of Riku's. Laughing, Ruki nodded a little at the comment. Then following the direction of Riku's hand, he nodded a little more enthusiastically.
"Oh, mmn, mochiron da ne~, let me..." Baka, you forgot to pour drinks! Quickly, he opened the bottle and poured some into a glass, handing it over to Riku before making himself a glass of apple kirin. "Kind of strange drinks to have with this, but they're so good ne..." he mumbled, eyeing his own drink enthusiastically. It had been way too long since he'd had any...four whole days! Riku laughed.
"Get used to wierd or strange things with me then." He took the glass - ah, the smell of it was even nice! With a soft tapping noise, he rested it back on the table. "Thank you Ruki-san." Ruki nodded, taking a long drink of his own glass.
"Yeah, seems to be going that way huh..." he said with a little smile, still eating. "That's okay, wierd is good sometimes, just look at visual kei ne!" Riku turned his knees slightly towards the other, and tilted his head looking for something on the boy next to him.
"So, I did my job right?" Of course, he had to leave that question as ambigious as possible, where would the fun be otherwise? He placed his hands onto his own thighs rubbing them slightly. Ruki turned a little toward the man too, still eating his last bite, and nodded again, the smile wavering for more seriousness.
"Yes, of course. Doumo arigatou for this, Riku-san, I really appreciate it..."
"Ah, you knew what I was talking about?" That made Riku's face light up as he clapped his hands together in excitement. "Goodgood, so now anytime you need someone to cheer you up," Riku gave Ruki his tradtional peace sign, "Riku desu." He laughed, stirring his food slightly now with his chopsticks. Ruki laughed a little again, taking another drink before feeding his face some more. "How long had you been dating? Not meaning to pry, or anything...Just...curious." Ruki paused and thought for a moment over the question.
"Mmn...maybe...two months? Maybe just one. I don't remember, I don't usually keep very good track of those things..." He practically pulled over the thing he'd been eating in front of Riku and ate at it a little more enthusiastically, then gesticulated to the Smirnoff. "You don't mind if I...?" he suggested, tilting his head a little for emphasis of the openness of his phrase.
"Ah that's it?" Riku clicked his tounge then nodded, there really was no need to worry then. If it had been longer, then Riku would have been much more symphathetic towards him. Chuckling, Riku waved his hand, "help yourself by all means." It would be odd for him to not drink in Ruki's company. But he could not help but have the inward struggle, what if he did drink to much- which was a little for him? He would slide by not drinking, for as long as he could. A mental nod, he could do this.
"Thank you," Ruki said, reaching for the bottle and opening it with a satisfying pop! Ruki sighed and sniffed at the opening-odors, smiling again. "There, see, that's what I need; a little drink. Want some?" he asked, offering the drink as presentation. Damn. That did not take long. Riku grinned, nodding enthusastically.
"Mhm!" he called out from the back of his throat; he would just watch himself, that was all. Hopefully, when you had fun with people sometimes you just tended to forget what you were drinking, and just drink because it was in front of you.
"Ruki san," Riku grinned. "let's play a drinking game." Good way to also get to know each other right? Not the best way to avoid drinking a lot, though. Smiling a little more now, Ruki handed over the opened bottle and got himself one.
"Mmn, yeah? Like what?" This one he sniffed as well, and licked his lips slowly in anticipation, hoping this wouldn't take too awful long. Uruha had gotten him a little bit hooked on the stuff...
"You really like this stuff ne?" Riku asked a little struck by the admiration Ruki was holding towards the drink. But the type of game, he was not sure of. He did not want to impose anything, but he also did not know of too many games. "I only know of the game, 'I've never'. Do you know any?" He held the drink in his hands, swirling it slightly . Ruki laughed softly, remembering the last time he played that game....with the girlfriend who'd just dumped him. Oh, what the hell, let the host host!
"Uruha really likes it, makes me drink it when we go out...it's kind of strong so I don't usually do so but I've gotten kind of hooked. And anou...that one's fine ne, whatever you like!" He swirled his own drink almost playfully, some sort of challenge. "Who starts?"
Strong? Riku wanted to just change drinks right about now, but continued to nod.
"I see, so this will be interesting to see how Ruki-san acts." He lifted his thin hand to motion at Ruki, "you?" Ruki nodded, licking his lips again. Smiling a little mischievously, the smile people had gotten used to seeing on him in pictures and on stage, he decided to play a little dirty from the getgo...
"I have never slept with a man before," he declared, somewhat quietly, not wanting to actually seem like he was playing dirty, not yet... Riku stared up at him with the most dumbfounded look before giving him a soft shove. He sighed, then lifted the drink to his lips taking a decent sized swig of it. His cheeks pink, not because of the drink (yet), but he was shy to admit that in front of Ruki - but he had to be honest. He lowered the drink, eyes a little wide as he held the bottle back to look at it once more. With the slight burning feel down his throat, yeah it was a bit strong. More than a bit for him really.
"Couldn't resist finding that one out ne?" He said with a laugh, "I have never..." He paused thinking of a good one to get Ruki back. "Tampered with a band member's instrument, to embarass them. Like...sabatogeing. Any band." Ruki laughed quietly, then quirked an eyebrow, thinking a bit.
"Any band? Not just your own?" He nudged the man a little, smiling again. "Kidding." After a moment he shook his head. "No, not on purpose. Although this one time..." He laughed shortly. "This one time...I re-tuned everyone's guitars REALLY bad before practice...NOT a good idea ne..."
"So drink, that counts!" Riku said in a pout, motioning with his dirnk for Ruki to take a drink. It was only fair. Shaking his head, Ruki did so. It was, certainly, only fair.
"Okay..." he said, sighing a little after the drink. "I have never...I have never swam in a koi pond." He shrugged after a moment, wondering why he was being so very random. Riku turned fully towards Ruki, legs crossed.
"What a stupid question," he said in a laugh, but shook his head - the answer clearly being no. He pulled at the blanket that was sitting close, unfolding it as he spread it over his lap. "I have never..." Riku drew out the last words, a bright blush over coming his cheeks with a passing thought. He did not ask that question. "I have never had a - a pregnancy scare. Like," he tilted his head to the side, trying to think how to describe it. "Where you have to wait for the call...you know?" Ruki laughed whole-heartedly at that one.
"Wow, that was good!" He took a hearty swig, imitating Riku's first, laughing still as he finished. "I have never eaten poisonous pufferfish," he said instantly. "Honestly."
"You have?" Riku asked a little shock, "oh, when? I bet that must have been scary for the band." he click his tounge against his mouth. He nodded, taking a light drink. "I only had a little. It was a, 'Ken-chan, you gotta try this!' Sort of thing. So I did." He looked down to the right, smiling with his lips sealed. Riku, wasn't exactly the hardest person to sway into doing things, at times. Ruki laughed a little.
"I guess so, huh? They didn't know about it though...it's not like we talk about that sort of stuff right? And that's not so bad, I just wouldn't do it if I was PAID." He nudged the man again. "Okay, your turn..."
"Oh, they didn't know?" He sounded a little surprised at that. Of course he hid somethings from the band, but that was just a big thing. "Well I'm glad it turned out oaky." He began to nod, at the nudge. "All right, I have never had sex in a public place. Like bathrooms, that sort of thing." Ruki laughed again, somewhat darker this time.
"You do play dirty huh..." he said as he raised the bottle to his lips, taking another substantial drink. Why waste it? He couldn't KEEP getting hits like that. This time he thought for a moment, determined to get back at him... "I...have never...worn a skirt on stage..." Hey, it was worth a try right! Shows how much Ruki knew about the man...
"I play very dirty- but trust me not as dirty as I could be." Riku grinned, an impish grin, what was on that mind of his? "ah..." He took another drink, light again, at this rate if he did not watch himself he would be drunk far quicker than Ruki so he did have to watch himself. Hopefully Ruki wouldn't press for big drinks. "I have never, ripped my pants on stage before.Came close though" So...Ruki has had sex in a public place? Where did he get the courage to do that? What if a fan had seen? Riku could only imagine the rush, that must have been. Ruki laughed again, and tipped his bottle instead of drinking it.
"Nope, finally missed one!" He tilted his head a little, as well, and eyed the man with a devious smirk. "I bet ne..." he added to Riku's previous statement. His own bottle was already half gone, from his practically attacking it, and he was feeling a buzz, inhibitions just starting to slide away...this would make for some better questions, or so he hoped...
"Hmn...I have never...I have never hooked up with someone I met exclusively online." Okay, so we were getting a little closer to the things he really wanted to know...A few more drinks and he'd be hurting the poor kid's feelings...
"You make me feel like I am playing battleship." Riku began to trace his fingers, around the lip of his drink. Perhaps he should start asking more vulgar questions, it would make it more all the more interesting right? He just had to be brave enough to do so. There was a pause after the question had been asked, Riku still tracing his fingers around the drink, before he did turn it up to take a bigger drink.
"Not like....I had never seen them or anything but..." He nodded smiling then shrugged his shoulders. "Only live once ne?" He giggled, that drink was getting a rise out of him. "I have never," he looked down since this was a more 'personal statement' "Whacked off to the GazettE before." He laughed and look up at Ruki, quickly. He wanted to know, had he done it to his own music? At this, however, Ruki couldn't help it; he burst out laughing. He rolled a bit, smacking the table for emphasis. Once the laughing had died down some he patted Riku's shoulder fleetingly. Riku joined him in laughter, though it was more of -I can't believe I just asked him that!-
"Hard to believe ne..." he said jokingly. "Suprisingly, I haven't either!" He laughed some more, almost taking a drink out of habit but managing not to. "Okay, I have never...Been asked to do a naked photoshoot," he said finally. Okay, maybe a little further away from the original objective, but it was an interesting little factoid either way. Riku quieted down, pulling his blanket around himself a little more.
"Hmph," he smiled tilting his head to the side. "I'm not Kiyoharu san." he laughed a little more but shook his head. "Another good one." He drummed his fingers on his thighs. "I have never....Accidentally," he made small quotations with his figners around the Accidentally, "kissed anyone before. Like when people go, oh I am so sorry I didn't mean to! I have never done that." Ruki laughed again, but less forcefully.
"That's cute. Really?"
"Mhm," Riku said with a smile. "You should always mean in it when you kiss someone, and that is just a little bitch way of trying to back out of an awkward feeling. Don't want to make it awkward, keep it to yourself." Riku nodded, knowing it all to well. Ruki turned his head on one side, thinking. After a long moment he shook his head.
"Don't think I have either. Wait....! Oh, no, that was consentual. Nevermind." He waved his bottle dismissively. Suddenly he eyed Riku, smiling again. He'd started out meaning to play dirty, and the other man wasn't NEARLY drunk enough. Time to give it a good drink...
"I have never..." he paused to seem like he was thinking. "Never been in love. Ever." He smiled a little, tapping the rim of the bottle against his lips as he waited. Riku clicked his tounge on the roof of his mouth, giving Ruki another look.
"You just want me to drink ne? You say stupid things," he added with a laugh taking a bigger drink, which had to shake his head to, feeling a wave of heat slight rush around him, the tops of his ears reddening. "Ne...I am not sure what else I have never done..." He paused. "I'll pull a Ruki." Which meant to say something careless. "I have never, ate cold pizza. Sounds disgusting." Ruki laughed again, finding it so much easier now, and took another drink.
"It's not disgusting, but it is wierd." He nodded a little as the bottle came away from his lips. "Okay, I guess I have to pull a 'Riku' then?" He took his time, thinking a bit. "I have never...hmm," he said, kicking that thought out. "I have never lied...never lied to my bandmates about how I feel about something." That was sufficiently meaningful, right?
"No fair," Riku said as he pressed the bottle to his lips, it was getting much lower than it had been before. And it was stronger, than what Riku was used to. Which would explain the giggles he couldn't seem to contain. "Ah, okay okay Ruki. Here, I have never been caught masturbating." he lifted his eyebrow tapping his fingers on the drink, rings making a clicking sound as he did so. The drink would also account for the increasingly bolder statements, usually Riku would beat around the bush. Ruki barely laughed at that one before taking a drink.
"That was a long time ago," he muttered, remembering the experience darkly. The smile stayed on his face, though, although it did waver quite a bit. His eyes met with Ruki's then, as he felt the drink taking over and all his abandon leaving. "I have never..." He smiled again at the irony, the other man was starting to get fuzzy too. But Ruki was a moody drunk, so the laughter was fading quicker. "Wanted to kiss any of my bandmates. Ever." A wicked smile spread across his lips, and he resumed tapping the bottle against them. Riku frowned, pouting.
"Picking on me," he said as he took a big drink to account for the many experiences. He wiped slowly at his lips at finishing it, swaying slightly as it rushed through him. "Not to mention, I have." He blinked slowly and looked up at Ruki. "We are counting like....all bands right?" He lifted his bottle swishing it slightly, it was low. "You have more of that stuff ne?" Riku now longer bother trying to hide the twang or whine in his voice as he spoke. Ruki laughed ironically this time.
"No, no, I think one bottle will be good for tonight," he said, thinking otherwise but saying so anyway. So he was going to win after all! ...If he played his cards right.
"Okay...So I have never, no I have done that." Riku stopped to rethink, reset his thoughts in proper motion. "I have never made a song without thinking about someone in particular." And that truly was a deep subject with Riku, given what some of his lyrics meant to him.
"Anou...you never write just for feeling?" Ruki asked, taking a drink, after having to contemplate the meaning of the question for a moment. "I do that all the time," he said after drinking. He paused for a moment, eyeing the state of Riku's bottle. This one had to be a good one... Oh, hell, he couldn't think well at this point and the very least he could do was be honest!
"I have never wanted to fuck any of my band members. Ever," he added, just for emphasis, and nodded to top it all off.
"My feelings, usually surround people. So, there is always usually one person I write..towards." That was a decent way to put it. "That, that person, I really consider their opinion above more peoples'." Riku was thankful for that, anymore and he would be getting into more trouble. He was having to even blink alot - he thought it did indeed keep his thoughts steady. He grinned, a sad grin really. "Wanted being the key word," he said softly as he tilted his head back taking the last of his drink in.
"I have never gone up to soemone and just said," Riku leaned in closely for this one, to present the situation it would be in. "I want to fuck you." He was imitating the way Ruki had presented his statement. Ruki shivered a little, too drunk to wonder seriously why, if it was the way the man spoke or the very thought of it... Either way, that was NOT something he wanted to linger on, and he nodded erratically, making a gesture toward Riku's drink and swallowing awkwardly.
"Looks like you lost, Riku-san...!" The smile returned to his face a bit, and he chuckled quietly.
"Ah..." Riku smiled and looked at the bottle. "So I did, I'm not very good at drinking." He said holding the last word once more. "Ne, you didn't answer though - have you?" he prompted, reaching over onto the chair grabbing his cigarettes and zippo; another cigarette was in order, that would help keep his head straight - he hoped.
"Mmn..." Ruki made the general Japanese sound of assent, meaning he didn't quite get it. Then it clicked. He wasn't just saying that for conversation purposes, it was an actual question! "Ah, anou..." Ruki thought, watching Riku and deciding he'd accept if a cig was offered, and then training his thoughts back on track. After a long moment he shook his head. "Not that I can remember...No, I'm not usually quite that bold." Riku lit up first, inhaling deeply. Neo cedars. His personal stick-like gods. He held the box up and lifted an eyebrow, trying to catch Ruki's eye - asking in a subtle way, if he would indeed like one.
"Glad to know I'm not the only one who is timid," he said, cigarette hanging limply in the corner of his mouth as he spoke. "Nene, if you want more food, please have some." He wanted to be sure Ruki would not hesitate to help himself. Ruki shook his head at the offer of food, but did reach for the pack of cigarettes.
"Thank you," he said quietly, taking one and handing back the pack, eyeing him a bit for a light. "Not hungry though, really, just getting tired..." The blonde haired man flipped the zippo open and reached over, lighting it for the other before tossing it onto the coffe table carelessly.
"You can have my bed." He looked at the cushions then laid to the side. "There is another blanket on the bed, too." He was not about to part with the one currently wrapped around him. He wasn't exactly tired, but wouldn't keep up company.
"Mmn, no, I couldn't do that..." Ruki refused politely, inhaling deeply from the cigarette. He smoked with a slow, drunken relish...he'd gone a LONG while without one now... Riku watched the other blowing smoke up into the air.
"Why not? You're a friend; take my bed, take my couch. I can honestly sleep in a bathtub. Or not sleep at all," he added in removing the cigarette to tap off the ash on the coffee table. Ruki laughed a little at the overly-enthousiastic refusal of his own statement.
"Wow, an 'enryo shinaide' would have sufficed. But it's nice to know you see me as a friend..." He sighed happily, smoking very slowly, determined to make this one last, as it would be his last for a long time... Riku giggled softly.
"Mm. I mean, I drank with you; I don't drink too often."
No?" Ruki laughed a little. "Could have fooled me..." Riku laughed turning his head away, but returned the cigarette to his mouth.
"I'm a bad drinker, it's a miracle I am not in your lap crying, to be honest." Ruki tapped his own cigarette loose of its ash, and bringing it to his lips smiled again.
"Crying? I don't think so...you were laughing at me the whole time." He tapped it again, mindlessly, or maybe just something to do with his hands. "You usually cry?" Riku nodded, in a slightly shameful way.
"Maybe we just got lucky tonight ne? But that's why I usually drink very little with friends, or a lot by myself." He added the last part with a laugh before sitting up, reaching for his plush dog on his chair. Ruki watched him with mild interest, noting the sudden change in attitude. Maybe they wouldn't be so lucky tonight after all...
"Cute dog," he proffered, realising suddenly that the cig was already half gone. He frowned a little and tried to smoke slower.
"Mhm," Riku set it in his lap tapping the ash off once more. He should have put the ash tray closer, but it was back on the computer. "His name is Gon. My dog until I can get a real one," he petted his head. "Do you need clothes to change into, Ruki-san?" Ruki shook his head, staring off distantly.
"No, I don't think so...I can stop by my house before practice tomorrow..." He laughed shortly, tapping his cigarette on the ashtray he could reach better than his partner, and looked back off in the distance. "Riku...?" he asked softly, "I was just thinking..."
"Hm?" Riku prompted.
"For 'Riuki', we should cosplay each other. It'd fuck with peoples' heads even more..." He laughed a little more, chuckling under his breath. Riku laughed.
"Ne! Drinking makes Ruki think stupid things." he reached over and batted his head lightly but nodded. "Sure, why not?" He chuckled inhaling deeply. "Oh and I was talking about clothes to sleep in." Ruki nodded again, the smile fading some.
"No, I have underclothes ne....not a problem." Tapping his cigarette again, he realised he wasn't smoking slowly at all, actually fairly quickly, but since the thing was nearly gone anyway he just shrugged and sucked down the cancer stick some more. "You know, these are really good. Gonna get me addicted again..." he said quietly, smiling just a little.
"Ah, gomen ne...." Riku pouted, he didn't mean for that to happen. "But at least now you understand why your convinence store sucks, since they didn't have these." He tapped his temple, as if pointing to the part of his mind that was, 'understanding'. "Nene, but seriously. Take any part of my home to sleep. I dun wanna make you feel awkward, so I would suggest not sleeping next to me." It was kinda sad to say that, but he didn't want to scare off a new friend. Ruki nodded again, complacently and understanding, and rubbed the stub of cigarette out in the ashtray.
"Don't apologise ne...just kidding..." He blinked into the distance again, feeling somewhat lost, the day's events playing back hazily across his eyes.
"Well you said, don't offer me any - but I did." He chuckled watching Ruki with a close eye. "...You okay?" he asked softly, not wanting to press. Ruki nodded once more, half-heartedly, barely a movement of the head. It was a long, still moment before he spoke.
"You know, I think women must be snakes. Vipers or something, strike at you over and over and eat you slowly while you die from their poison. You know what I'm talking about...?"
"Mnn..." Ruki shook his head. "Guess not ne..." Riku chuckled softly, the topic wasn't exactly funny but Ruki needed to be enlightened.
"Men are the same way Ruki." He stood closing up their food boxes taking it to the kitchen to put it safely in the fridge for later. "By the way, I am personally not opposed to sleeping in the same bed with you, it will be your call," Riku added in coming back for the drinks that had yet to be drunk. In a moment of intelligence Ruki snatched at a bottle of his koiwai and clutched it, sipping at it a bit. He shook his head.
"You're not the kind to mind that ne...I don't care either. If you want to sleep in your bed, go ahead, I don't mind...." He sipped a bit more. "Just don't touch me please," he said quietly. "I don't like much to be touched." Riku nodded, reaching for the other drinks and putting them up, leaving Ruki to his own.
"Perhaps I will sleep out here then, sometimes I roll and cling in my sleep. Sometimes not, so far only one person has ever been able to keep me still and away, for good, and for sure." He pushed his cigerette out in an ash tray then sat down next to Ruki
"Who's that?" Ruki asked absently, sipping some more, still staring off into space. He was listening, just not directly...
"Person I love." He smiled taking the dog back into his arms, hunching over it, using it as a make shift pillow. "Unrequited."
"But he abuses it, so I don't mind too much ne," he chuckled, "not many can understand that though." Ruki's sleep-deprived, intoxicated mind only snatched parts of this, and he honestly didn't pry enough to worry over any decoding. He merely nodded and finished off his drink, sitting back against the couch and turning to look at Riku finally.
"Bed time?" Riku asked tilting his head. "I'll show you to my room, ne?" Ruki nodded.
"Mmn....arigatou gozaimasu, Riku-san..." he mumbled, rising and stretching, setting the bottle back on the coffee table.
"It's honestly not a problem, Ruki-san." He waited to make sure Ruki was steady before guiding the other to his room, red christmas lights already on. "Anou...You can move the chocolate." There was a candy bar on his pillow. "But, sleep tight, mmkay?" Ruki smiled just a bit at the odd surroundings, taking them in fuzzily, and nodded.
"Thank you though..." he said, bowing a little to the man as he did move the chocolate, settling down carefully and looking around at his new surroundings. The minute he'd settled into the bed he fell asleep, obviously stressed and sleep-deprived still, and he slept easily because of the comforting feeling that seemed to surround Riku and his whole house.
In all honesty, Riku had been very proud of himself. He was laying on the floor, not on the cushions, wrapped in his leopard blanket, TV on playing softly. Glasses folded neatly on the coffe table. He had been doing so well till his phone vibrated. He reached up, flipped it open; squinting his eyes to read the text, he gave up and put on his glasses. He read the text, closed the phone, removed the glasses and clung tightly to the brown plush dog of his. It had been so well till he got that text. It had taken him longer to fall asleep, thoughts of Akito now fluttering through his head. It probably wasn't even till near morning time did he finally lull himself into a sleep.
