I thought the first season was intriguing, but the whole Jack/Kate/Sawyer thing got real old real fast. Not to mention whatever the hell Locke was up to. But the "triangle" reminded me way too much of the Scott/Jean Grey/Wolverine thing from the 90's X-Men series that just ended up with a whiny, unlikable Wolverine. I liked Sawyer well enough. I found Jack supremely bland and boring. But I especially despised teh k8. She was a different person in every episode, and in every single one, she embodied a different terrible female stereotype. But there were enough other characters and, like I said, it was intriguing enough that I kept watching.
Enter the "Tailies." I love, love, LOVED Ana Lucia. Unlike many other characters on the show, her back-story actually made sense to me. With all the flirting, tension and obvious chemistry between her and Sawyer, I very quickly became an Ana Lucia/Sawyer shipper. Then, they actually did pair Ana Lucia with Sawyer. And it was awesome. And then they killed her off. In the same freakin'

Oh okay, I can understand that. I "went along for the ride" with the show and that helped me a lot with any frustration I may have felt, which wasn't really much (as far as characters and what made sense. When it came to what was going on, I was very frustrated for answers). I dunno, I guess we just think differently (which is okay!). I have a friend who bailed around season three.
I guess I can't do that with a show. I've studied theater and the characters' actions and motivations have to at lease make sense. Once Upon a Time, which has some of the same creative staff behind it, can get pretty crazy and convoluted at times, but I at least like most of the characters well enough to keep watching. Plus, we already know it's based in fantasy and magic, so I feel like I can give them some more leeway. But if the characters' actions make no sense, the storylines become increasingly convoluted all while they're killing off their better characters, it starts to feel like the writers are just pulling BS out of their arses and with no real payoff in sight, well they're going to lose me. Which is exactly what LOST did. In fact, it wasn't just me an your friend who bailed around season 3; I distinctly remember LOST's ratings taking a nose dive after season 2!
I agree about LOST. I tried to finish it, but couldn't. I liked a lot of characters that they killed off. I quit when they killed Charlie (S3?). The premise they seemed to be going for in the early seasons seemed awesome... then they must've thought people figured out their formula and changed it to the most bizarre, convoluted time-shifting mumbo jumbo... I'm faithful, but not that faithful. I loved Michelle Rodriguez, and yeah, that was a total bullshit thing to kill her off. And I never liked the Kate character even for one second of the show.
Having grown up with a musician for a Dad, I've been exposed to a lot. A friend once commented that I know more about music than anyone she knows because I knew where the harpsichord solo was in a Beatles song or something silly like that. I remember thinking "Really? Me? You must not know a lot of musicians!" Having grown up with music all around, I also feel comfortable branching out and discover my own. I like my mix of music, but I always like when people compliment me on my taste, too! So thank you

Why thank you! I was really happy how it came out and really shocked but pleased about the reception it got. I forgot to mention that if you're on ravelry, I have the same username if you're so inclined to check out my projects and add me there.
OMG, Tori is the best! I'm curious, now, what songs/albums did you check out? What were your favourites

I have an account on ravelry, but haven't used it much, yet. I've been on there for about a year, and keep forgetting about it. I'd like to use it more

Love ravelry. A part of me wants to tell you that you should be on it more, because it's such a great resource. On the other hand, I spend so much time on it. I recently told a newer acquaintance that I'm not on Facebook and she said something like "what do you do with yourself, then?" The answer: Ravelry
