Same thing happened to me, but you don't have to see a dentist right away unless they are super painful or something. However, the earlier you get them out, the better. Mine were nothing. I hear horror stories, so don't wait long. Get them done over winter break or something.

you may not have to get them removed at all! you should wait to see if they can actually fit in your mouth first. that may sound silly, but some people DO have room for them. reasons that you SHOULD have them removed:
~coming in very crooked and pushing against your other teeth... therefore making them crooked too.
~not pushing against other teeth, but still coming in at a weird angle.
~painful puffy gums around it.

the surgery to remove them will waste a week of your life. there is no way around it. but its not too bad, really. you get put on lots of nice drugs and you take long naps every day. at least thats what i did... but the blood and the not being able to eat is kinda annoying. but whatever. its better after they're gone. i had mine removed during spring break. it was an adventure!

ohhhh! and BTW... if they ask you if you want to be knocked out or stay awake with pain meds of some sort.... get knocked out. its soooo much better. my surgery took over an hour. it felt like a second. and i didnt see a thing. =)
