Thanks for sympathy both. Feeling a bit better now, as i've worked my last shift there.
The final straw for me was that they're expecting whoever takes over to dust the phones - there're 3 call centres and a fourth office set up as a call centre and only one person cleaning. All fun and games!

Anyway, job hunt in progress. Shall see where it leads me this time :)

I can't remember if your place has one or two bedrooms? If it has two, you can claim you and Al are housemates, rather than partners, and then your claim won't be affected by his income.

No use if you've only got one bedroom, though, sorry :/

Wish I could help more :( I'd still advise speaking to CAB or Shelter for advice, they may well have some helpful suggestions, even if you're not eligible for any benefits. If Al's being all funny about it, don't tell him, claim any of the suggestions they make you decide to act upon came from someone on here :P

You will find a good job, I hope it doesn't take too long *big hugs*

Thanks :) We technically have 2 bedrooms, though it would be a nightmare if we tried to live like that!

I keep meaning to talk to CAB but the waiting list is a bit huge right now so i keep thinking that things'll get better without. Probably should just make an appointment - can always cancel if things do improve.
