All but one of the following happened to me today:
- I got an unexpected, unexplained IRS refund
- I received 100s of virus infected emails
- I visited the bank to pay my property tax
- I went downtown for Sox worshipping
Which of the above is NOT true?
-I got an unexpected, unexplained IRS refund …TRUE
Well, actually, my business got the check, but I have no idea why they sent a refund. I’m guessing they made a mistake or they returned my past overpayments, which they should have kept as credit toward future taxes. Or it could be something else. Needless to say, I’ve called my accountant and won’t do anything but rub the check against my wallet for luck until we know what’s up. (But would it have killed the IRS to include an explanation?)
-I received 100s of virus infected emails …TRUE
…And they are all from my personal domain! Turns out there is a virus on my web host’s mail server. It’s sending infected emails to some, but not all, of their accounts. Lucky me! How’d I get so special? And they can’t fix the issue till 2 or 3 A.M. So a torrent of infected emails will bombard my innocent computer until that time. Thank goodness for my anti-virus software that is preventing the W32.mytob.ED@mm virus from getting on my computer!
-I visited the bank to pay my property tax …TRUE
Yes, Cook County continues to suck money from residents anyway it can! Sigh, there went a big chunk of money, but I still prefer to keep my money and make two payments a year instead of paying extra to my mortgage company twelve times a year.
-I went downtown for Sox worshipping …NOT true
Nope, I don’t care for crowds and was busy dealing with the virus issue. I didn’t even watch it on TV.
So, how was your day? ;-)
