I absolutely love stories like these, that are more Kate-centric and seem to dig into the darkest parts of her.

Kate Beckett doesn't believe in fairytales. She doesn't believe in psychics, or Santa, or fate.
But she does believe in life and she hasn't given up on happy endings. Instead she's begun to realise that sometimes you just have to write them yourself.
(And isn't it lucky that she has a writer to help her do it?)

I love that you can see that, without Castle, she'd have never made it here. I'd love to quote back all the parts I loved, but that would be the entire story, so I just settled for that one. Amazing, extraordinary job on this.

I love this. You have Beckett down so beautifully, and you show how all the pieces of her fit together. Your writing is as lovely as always (starting the fic with a parenthetical? GENIUS. So atmospheric). ♥

When it ends, she realises her mistake. It wasn't noise at all; it was simply the volume control turning everything else - turning Castle - down.

Beautiful! That line hit me like a ton of bricks.
