I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet such a wonderful kitty. I'll tell my Twerpy and my Tami to watch out for him and make him welcome.

You and the rest of your family are in my thoughts. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute.

My heart to you and and your family. I have a host of cats a-waitin' for me; I have no doubt Schiller's going to be waiting to twine in and out of your legs when it comes time for you to walk through that final door.

Several years ago when she was about three, Treanna woke up in the middle of the night to tell us that she'd had a dream about seeing her brother in Heaven with an older man and a bunch of cats. "But your brother's asleep in his bed," we told her.

"No, my other brother." Yes, she'd briefly had another brother, who miscarried. We'd never talked about him with our kids. Treanna was 11 months old when that happened, right around the time we got our last cat Mallory. Then she proceeded to stun us further by describing the old man and the cats. My grandpa Ralph, who died when I was one and a half. Rusty, my first cat. Spook, larger than life. Mallory, who was with us for three short months before we had to let her go.

Only we don't let them go; they go on, and they never let go of us.

"No, Mom," Alex said solemnly. "To absent friends."

To absent friends.
