Kyuhyun slumped at the chair in front of the operating room with his mom at his side, his father talked to the doctor, while her father tried to calm her mother down. Their siblings and close friends were also around. Small sobs and frustration sighed were heard everywhere.
When they came there in a rush six hours ago, he practically begging the doctor to let him came to the operation room with her. Her brother-in-law, Jungsu, and his own brother, Donghae, were pulled him backward so the doctor could close the operating room.
He was only calming down when her older sister, Taeyeon, closed her arms to her brother-in-law-to-be with soothing voices that reminded him that everyone there were also love her too.
But no one, not even her parents and her siblings, were understand the big hole in his heart. Because he was serious when he said that she was her life, that he could not live without her and that if something happened that night, he could be considered himself dead at heart too.
*bang*
The door of the operating room was opened and the old doctor came out to say that she was in coma. He could not breathe. His ears were hurt with the sound of everybody crying and shouting. And his eyes were blurring because the tears formed two small streams down his face.
*bam*
“Kyuhyun!” His sister, Ahra, screamed when she saw him collapsed on the floor. Then Donghae pulled him into his arms when he wailed so sadly. “Seohyun.... Seohyun.... You promised.... You promised....”
You promised me to be always by my side, no matter what. Remember, Baby?

Six months had passed since she lived with the life-supporting machine. Kyuhyun could be seen spending most of his time with her. Held her hand while talking or smoothen her hair while humming.
He still went to work, but everybody who seen him would know that he was not really living. He was still the best young lawyer in the city but he became fierce and heartless. He got big paid but most of his money went to hospital because he was against everybody when they once thought they should let her go and stop the life-supporting machine.
Those who close to him know that the only place they could see the old and real cheeky Kyuhyun was on that hospital room. He was also a nice visitor for the staffs because he often brought them food and flowers. And he became popular to the younger hospital patients as he sometimes let them played in Seohyun’s room.
But only few knew that he was always wished for the rain to come so he could watch the dew formed at the window at the same time the tears formed at his eyes. Building the same small streams that similar to the ones he saw in her face the day he proposed to her. The day before she broke her promise.
Though Kyuhyun knew that she was not planning it, yet he blamed himself for not noticing the symptoms before. Of her being tired easily. Of her dizziness that happened here and there. He was full of himself, of his own happiness and overwhelmed feeling, because she had loved him too.
Many would say he was a zombie, living dead who was only live for a purpose. On his case, his promise of forever to her.
Seohyunnie, someone needs to keep our promises because I believe if I do that, you will come and get yours too.

Then the day came, their third anniversary, and a year after the last time he saw her smile.
He was planning a party at the hospital room. Much to everyone in his and her family chagrin. But they let him did that if that could make him alive.
They got everything but the lovely pink roses that she loved so much. So he went to the flower shop in front of the hospital to get that.
He was still humming her favorite song when a car suddenly appeared in front of him.
*bam... bam....*
Donghae who was just parked his car was seeing his dongsaeng flying to the hard cemented road. He ran so fast to Kyuhyun. Please God, not him!
But when he got to his brother, his little brother who used to piggy riding him, he knew that he might be too late.
Kyuhyun held his hand with the last strength that he had while mumbled softly. “I fail too, Hyung, I promised her forever.”
Donghae could only cry his heart out, rocking the lifeless body of his brother.
*dugeun.... dugeun....*
And on the particular room at the hospital, Seohyun’s mother was stunned when her daughter’s stiffed fingers moved faintly, and she was sure that she heard a very soft voice of her daughter that called her love, “You’re here, Kyuhyun-oppa, I miss you.”, before the usually steady beep of her heartbeats on the life-supporting machine suddenly became flat.
“Seohyunnie, I fail.“
“Oppa, I fail too. But we’re together now, right?”
“Always and Forever, Baby.”
The rain that threatened to fall that afternoon finally came down. Its drops formed small streams of dew on the windows, when many of the small streams were also formed on the faces of their loved ones.
But what important was that they’re together. Because Kyuhyun would not live without Seohyun by his arms, and Seohyun would not leave without Kyuhyun at her side. And now they were together, always and forever.
