I got ahold of Bill, my buddy from the Grand, earlier today. He rode out the storm in Fort Bayou and they're doing relatively well. He says power is back up through parts of the Fort Bayou neighborhood, and that he should get service by later today, or tomorrow at the latest. He was getting some food and supplies from stores in Gautier. The

glad to hear from you again, and my heart goes out to everybody there. i haven't worked a lot this week, but when i get some tip money this weekend i'm going to make a donation. my friend in houston is signing up with habitat for humanity to help the refugees who have crossed into texas from the affected areas in louisiana.

Thanks. Considering the what's happened and how many people have been affected, any help is going to be appreciated. Also, the austin_community journal has been impressive, and Houston itself seems to really be going all-out for the refugees.
