Obi-wan never told him, and Yoda didn't either. They were the only people still alive that would have known.

And he didn't know Vader's last name.

Obi-wan died when Luke went to confront Darth Vader (for the first time, I believe). He trained Luke.

His mother? As in his aunt that raised him? She wasn't allowed to tell...she would be putting her life as well as the future of the galaxies/future Rebel Alliance in jeopardy, since Luke Skywalker was their savior.

His real mom (Padme Amidala) died after she gave birth.
