I just need people's opinions on something.

I told Mrs. Martin at least 3 or 4 times that I wouldn't be in school Thursday or Friday, and she said all I would miss is a movie. Now, when I came back from vacation, I found out that she assgined the Prufrock Paper....Now, I wasn't there for class discussion, and I have some idea what the paper is ( Read more... )

my feeling is, you missed school, and you missed her assigning the paper, so you shouldn't have to do it. She's been pretty good, if I remember, about giving extentions to people who are absent. Especially, you can get her, in that you told her you'd be out, and she told you there'd be nothing. The only thing that I'd worry about, is that this paper has to be submitted electronically as well, and turnitin has strict deadlines.

I dunno, if it were me, I'd just play stupid, it works most of the time (as bad as that is, lol). If you had no knowledge of the paper (or "no knowledge of the paper"), how can she penalize you?

Sorry that was kinda longwinded, lol

turnitin.com's got some backdoors.

gotta watch out about the timing though. many of the dates martin assigned for us were messed up due to the dates being set to Pacific, non eastern.

you did what most good students do, inform the teacher you wont be there, so you can if possible, get the assignments due during this time. assuming she doesnt play the website tactic, you should be fine and should get an extension.

I posted the prompt last week like you asked me to...

I'd say the issue of you having or not having to do it is a gray area, but $10 bucks says she'll give you crap about it and say you should have done it. She'll probably say "well didn't your friends tell you about it?"

It didn't take me that long, if you start it now you'll prolly be done by maybe 9:00.

yeah, but i don't understand some of the interpretations. the guy's a loser? loner? lover? totally went past me...i mean, i know a lot of people that were in class for discussion don't understand it either, but i wasn't even there for that.

i don't think i'm going to do it for tomorrow though. at worst, she'll take off 10% for it being a day late, and i'll just deal with that.

OH! how about this!
i don't do it for tomorrow...and then if she gives me an issue about it, i'll do it first thing tomorrow for homework, and i'll hand it in to turnitin.com by midnight, when it's due date expires.
i mean, if she doesn't want to give me extra time, i say this is a fair compromise b/c i'll still be handing it in the same day as everyone else technically.

i just wrote about what i thought he was. i didn't even pay attention to the interpretations because i didn't know what she was talking about since i wasn't there either. sparknotes it...it helped me.
