Sandra looked around. The hall was full of people , people she was supposed to have known all her life, people she thought she knew , people who she ( at significant moments in her life ) realised she didn't actually know anything about and people who she concluded she didn't care enough to want to know ( Read more... )

Neat to see the dialogue between Sandra and her inner voice!

Hey, I have a dumb question - is it a common thing for Indian writers to choose Anglo character names, or set their stories in other or non-specific locations?

Lolzzz not at all a dumb question ..... as far as I know and have read almost all Indian writers chose to write with Indian character names .... anglo maybe if the writing demands of it ... otherwise lots of ethnic variations to chose from within the country ..... same with locations ..... if they are based in India they tend to write about India and if Non residents then about wherever they are based or wherever they feel their writing should be based.... :)
As for me ..... I tend to be partial towards English names that I like the sound of or maybe even names of my favourite actors ..... Here somehow Sandra Bullock and Richard Gere popped up ...... and then Sammy is ofcourse littke boys from numerous movies ......

Now that gets me thinking to get creative with my names ..... Thanks for the read and the query ...... As always I appreciate any interaction ...

I hadn't thought of the "Yes, and" approach being used to fold someone else's negativity toward the positive that is true and also what you would much rather be discussing! But you demonstrated it very well here, especially with the encounter with toxic Aunt June.

Happy to know that it worked ..... I did have my doubts .... but went ahead as that was the only path my mind seemed to be taking. I enjoyed doing the Aunt June bit too ..... as well as the inner voice that was positively agreeing to the characters conflicts while adding a new bit of thought. Thank you for reading ... you are one of the writers I admire this season .... So you taking time to read and provide comments .... is well deeply appreciated :)

I enjoyed the strength she developed in time, and the metaphor of the fort felt well applied here. The inner dialogue was a bit confusing, as she conversed with it, as if her inner voice was a different personality from her... perhaps a stronger version of herself? But overall, the journey seemed palpable, and worked well for this character. Good job.

Thank u for stopping by , reading and for taking time to pass over your feed back too ... Really do appreciate.

I just feel that sometimes no matter how much of therapy you have had , there are moments in a day , a week or a month maybe when you tend to look back , go over all the things that had happened to you and doubts start creeping in. So in Sandra's case the Inner Voice was intended to reassure her, keep her focused on positivity. The Inner Voice I had envisioned to help pull her back when she had doubts.Yes ... in a way it was intended to be her mind which voices itself when her heart fails or trips. :)

I like her positivity and her inference that Richard was the "big bad wolf"!
