This is interesting - I think about these things a lot, because in the Sims community a few years ago I got hit by a lot of anonymous hate, and I think internalized sexism was one of the drivers of that hate - the Sims community is mostly female, and the internalized misogyny and the resulting emotional issues causes a LOT of gossip and hate and drama and hurt.

I somehow missed out on a lot of those messages growing up, so I have a lot of trouble understanding people who believe(d) those things, so it's important for me to read things from people who did so I can try to empathize more. Thank you for sharing. *hugs*

I figure digging out the lies will be a life time job. It is for me .... But I am glad I have learnt to understand that everything we know and believe need not necessarily be the ultimate truth.
