wow, glad to know you're still alive and getting things back on track! :) best of luck with all your endeavours... I find things so much easier to get through when i set long term goals for myself, even if "long" is just this summer, next year, after i graduate (2 years) etc.
good to hear you are doing well too. definitely glad to hear about your banging new job. benefits are where its at when you're an adult. i didn't realize that til i got that stuff myself, and then it actually came in handy. and you have a kid too so you could probably get him insured too. congrats all around.
hahaha, i remember calling you when I was at Apple getting my laptop looked at. i miss you buddy. gosh, i'm so loving this new entry! congrats on the new job.. although i don't understand it quiet entirely, you'll have to fill me in. but dude, yay on the 410k match!!!!! i need that in my life. i'm trying to open up a roth IRA and all that grown up stuff.
hello my west coast fashionista friend. yes, it's your online bff / assistant car parker / personal counselor. is miss sis pushing a new whip yet???
yea i'm diggin the new hustle. haven't really taken advantage of my new benefits yet, but i will in due time. and yes, we have to get you set up for an IRA account. even if it's something small like $100, at least it's a start! once it's set up you can always add more money as you please. and keep in mind that there's the traditional IRA where you can deposit up to $4,000 a year as a tax write-off. when you're retired and pull the money out, that's when you pay the taxes. the roth IRA you pay taxes on your money first, then deposit it into the IRA account, let it grow, then when you pull it out, everything including the profit / earnings are tax free. ummm...call me and we'll go over it. =)
Proud of you Burt!mr_nice_guyMarch 9 2009, 21:18:04 UTC
I forgot to ask when we had dimsum. Glad you're adjusting well to the new job and all. All it takes is just to get your foot in the door. Once you're in, you'll begin moving up from there. Stick it out if it gets hard. Nothing's easy, you'll do well. When you put your mind to it, you can do anything. I know it/seen it.
We must get another poker game going if you have time. It'll give you a change to unwind and take your mind off of things.
On another note, take full advantage of all the benefits your company offers. 401k might not be the best thing to invest in right now with the economy and all, but do it if they offer. Same with medical. Go to the doctors if they pay for it. Also, life insurance may not be your priority right now since there's no family to take care of.
