The Powers That Be thought that they were somehow able to throw a twist to the mix in the prophecy by adding a little surprise. We have always known about Alexia, but Tyler was not predicted. I was heading for the one member of the family (who wasn't my sister or my kids) who hadn't burned all of their bridges with me just yet. I could spit on James, I hated him that much. Dominique was just a crazy fucking bitch. Aidan had stayed away from me, which I appreciated actually. So this time I was gonna reward him for leaving me the hell alone by going to him instead of my dad. She wanted to talk in private so I nodded and led her into my office, shutting the door behind us. Heading over to the bar, I fixed us both a drink. Whiskey for my niece and a usual scotch for myself. I had doubts if she'd actually take the drink from me, but I couldn't have my own family invited into my office for the first time and not offer her a drink ( ... )

A flare for large projects? What? Like me? My kids? My husband (former)? I hated James so fucking much and Dom scared the shit out of me. Aidan was kind of a smug bastard and that pissed me off but he was my best shot right now. I had to find some way to help my son and I didn't know where else to go. I glanced down at the whiskey she placed back on my desk then curiously moved my eyes back up to look at her. I had a feeling she wouldn't want to accept the drink, but who was I to be a rude uncle. Sipping again at my own drink, I sat it back on the desk and listened closely at what she was saying ( ... )
