Hawleywood's Barbershop is well worth the trip...
It took me and Dopher nearly 6 hours and 120 miles from departure to return, ~2 hours each way, and ~ 45 minutes in the chair, each (with a break for our barber in between).
So worth it.
I think the results speak for themselves.
Really like the haircut, don't think I am going to compete with Dopher for the jar of pomade we bought, but damn... I have a lot of forehead. Glad I am not too grey yet, but this receding hairline... ah, whatever.
My old barber in Eagle Rock had a button he used to wear that read:
"I am not getting balder, I am just getting more head!"
Really classy, that guy.
'If you are big enough to reach the (porn on the) top shelf, you are big enough to read it' just about sums up his philosophy. Retired recently, I'll have to go down and see who the new "Jake" is at Jake's barber shop (yes, I know the old Jake's real name, as would anyone who actually looked at his Barber license on the wall).
