Yeah, I've seen maybe 4 or 5 of the movies on your list, and I'm generally not a fan of Lynch, Von Trier, or Solondz. Bully is one that should be on more lists, though. Didn't even cross my mind. Reading the book it was based on, I found that pretty much everything in the movie, right down to dialogue, was exactly as it happened in real life. Which possibly makes it even more disturbing than it was in the first place.

Yeah. Hot damn that was blood curdling. But then again, I live for disturbing movies, as you can probably tell. but i do appreciate the input of all sorts of tastes, and i mean, "There Will Be Blood" is naturally one of the best recent things.
Your list is amazingly close to my theoretical one, including _Children of Men_ and _Wet Hot American Summer_! I don't recognize #5 (is that Elias Koteas [sp?] with Mark Ruffalo? Some hot intense-actor-on-actor action!) and I didn't see the one with Val Kilmer. Supposedly there's some very torrid sex in _In the Cut_, including a rather graphic mustache-riding scene. This is, of course, before Meg Ryan acquired the "trout pout".
#5 is Zodiac and #14 is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Both great movies with Robert Downey Jr. being a smartass in 'em.
I wasn't sure who Elias Koteas is until I imdb'd him and saw that he was Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yup, that's him in that shot. Along with Anthony Edwards and Norm Son-of-a-Gunderson from Fargo.
20. The Aviator 19. Moulin Rouge 18. The Dark Knight 17. Kill Bill...s 16. Amelie 15. Finding Nemo 14. The Others 13. The Prestige 12. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 11. Quills 10. Big Fish 9. High Fidelity 8. No Country For Old Men 7. Almost Famous 6. Children Of Men 5. The Departed 4. Shaun Of The Dead 3. Closer 2. Pan's Labyrinth 1. Requiem For A Dream
2000 is definitely getting overlooked in these lists-- High Fidelity and Requiem For A Dream hadn't even occured to me.
I really liked Finding Nemo too, that's probably my second-favorite Pixar of the decade. Although I haven't seen WALL-E yet.
I don't mean for this to sound as belittling as it probably does, but Almost Famous was one of my favorite movies until I watched it sober.
I'm working on a list right now about assholes I've known this decade. You are more than familiar with at least a couple of 'em and I'll expect your insights to fill in a few blanks.

well, probably because it's not dramatic.
