Inspired, as always by 8footwookie (and also, to a lesser extent, by High Fidelity). Today I have my current top 10 (as distinct from an all-time list) of what I'm listening to at the moment ( Read more... )

Mine was not a top ten list, but a list of ten.

The new Queens of the Stone Ange sounds like it will be every bit as good as the last.

You inspired me to a list of ten and nick hornby inspired me to make it a top ten. I will definitely have to check out the new QotSA Album when I get a chance. I shoudl definitely do more top 10 / top 5 lists and in that a spirit:
Top 5 Tracks to offend your grandparents:
1) Fuck Tha Police / NWA
2) Feel good hit of the summer / QotSA
3) Drop the Pressure / Mylo
4) Smack my Bitch up/ the Prodigy
5) I like Big Butts/ Sir Mix-A-Lot

Nick Hornby inspires me to a lot of things.
And your list surprises me.

When I was little I remember playing part of the Purple Rain album at my grandmother's house when I stayed there one summer. I think it was the lyrics about "masturbated with a magazine."

Foreigner? I thought the 80s had ended
My only claim to fame is that my tutor is the father of one of Groove Armada, exciting eh?

It is indeed a great list, however I must take exception to your reproaches. The jay-z / linkin park albuym of remixes is actually excellent and well worth a listen while foreigner are perhaps the most cruelly underrated soft rock band of the early 80's. I refer you to such classics as "cold as ice" and "at war with the world" and seminal power ballad "Iwant to know what love is".
