It's official. i have gamed the system in ways undreamed of Sam, the Uber-Weasel himself. Next semester, my D&D game will be worth college credit.

Know of it, never perused any of the books related to it. I know that it purports to be a system that can be adapted to any setting or theme.

Quite. The other day, I discovered a campaign setting book for the GURPS system. Set in the world of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
