Someone was once astounded at the fact that I didn't know which keys to press, and how many times, in order to get each letter when typing out an SMS (a "text" for those that use the hip terminology). We're kindred spirits! I can also get almost 50wpm without looking, but without using the right fingers either. And I don't even own a mobile phone and haven't for almost two years now.

The only reason I have one is... come to think of it, I don't think I have a reason any more. I originally bought it for work, and then needed it because I was jumping back and forth between uni and freelance work. Now I have an office, and have finished uni.

you just need to replace your keyboard with a mobile phone style one and let your thumb do all the work. I bet a lot of kids could type faster on a phone pad than on a keyboard which would be grear for getting them jobs in offices, except everything would be written like:

DEAR SIR

U R TEH WINR OF R SWEEP STKS CONTST! PLZ PCK UP UR PRZ ON WED @ 3. C U L8R

1) 3 or 4 letters a key is so passe' - it's all predictive text these days (which the kids hate because you need to be able to spell).

2) Not touch typing keeps away the RSI fairy.

3) How do you convince someone that trying to make the world a better place is a good idea when they are a neo-realist?
