How is it that things like the holocaust, the Rwandan massacres, or even the Cronulla race riots occur?

I watched Hotel Rwanda last night. I just don't understand how people could be so blinded by hatred. I really don't.

This seems rather close to the "us and them" mentality that you see as the problem, don't you think?

I'd blame alcohol but I don't think that was the cause of the holocaust or rwanda.

Prob that we are all sinfull selfish people, hitler was a maniac, people want to blame other people for their problems and generally are looking for an excuse to behave like animals.

Maybe I haven't studied animals enough, but I always thought humans were the ones who invented genocide and its lesser cousin, racial vilification.

I was refering to the cronulla lot with the animals thing, and I mean the generic "animal" like animal on the muppets. Not like a bunny.
