Quick question for those in the US/Canada: suppose I wanted to take part in OLPC's "give one get one" program, would you let me ship the machine to your address and then ship it over here for me?
Aye. I've been watching the Eee with a keen eye since it was announced, but I have to say I'm rather disappointed with how things have panned out.
I'm not really sure what interests me about the OLPC machine. The novelty of a bright green toy computer? Showing it to my nieces and nephews? Having a low-power ultra-portable that in theory I can power by hand? Perhaps all of these things.
I've been interested in it and still am. My reasons is that all I want it for is to write when I'm out and aboot. So what I wanted was a tiny laptop with a full size keyboard and OpenOffice writer.
OMG that's exactly what they have. That's me sorted.
IMO laptops are too big. Some of them weigh so much that they are not really walk portable. I think most people have cars.
Unless I can have an electric car (or similar) I wont have one.
Awesome. I'm about 80% sure I'm going to go ahead with it. If you can send me your current address, then I'll buy it and work out how to pay you to have it shipped here. Sound good?

Then buy one of these? when they come out?
All that shipping must offset the good some how. ;)
