I didn't make much of Christmas before, nor have I made much of the new year. It doesn't really matter, I don't think. I used to remark on what year it 'would' be in my world if time were still flowing

Is it clever to publicly resolve to murder your father?

I believe my animosity towards my father is rather widely known by now.

That's enough to justify murder?

If you knew what he'd done, I should think you'd agree.

Just make certain that resolution goes the proper way, because there are two ways to keep it--

It wouldn't be winter in the City without a bout of summer in the middle, would it?

No, certainly not. I'd almost be disappointed now if we didn't have this spate of summer in winter.

It's almost a bit late this year, though, isn't it? Sometimes we get it around Christmas, and this time it's the New Year already.

It has come later, though, hasn't it? I do recall it coming earlier, but I feel as though it's come later in January a few times, or perhaps even February.
