i am so very very pleased to see this on your list. it is my favorite film of all time... i'm grateful to have seen a print of it on the screen (last?) year.

If you haven't watched Kalatozov's I Am Cuba and you were impressed by the cinematography in this...get ready to be blown away. Highly recommend it. On my top 25.

He did Soy Cuba? Didn't realize. I saw the first 10-15 minutes for a class and was unimpressed, but I should probably revisit it.
