Tell me about There Will Be Blood. I couldn't really get a feel for it in the trailers I've seen (and I'm too poor to pay $10 and see it in the theater). I know it's up for best picture, but that isn't always particularly meaningful. So hit me with the lowdown.

By the by, that is an amazing song. Andy still playing it non-stop? haha.

Yes. Yes, he is. But that's okay, because as you say, 'tis amazing.

There Will Be Blood is my second-favorite movie that came out this past year. To quote Jack Black (speaking on something else entirely), "It's funny, and violent, and the soundtrack kicks fucking ass." Daniel Day-Lewis plays an oil prospector in turn-of-the-century California who's obsessed with accumulating enough money so he doesn't ever need to be around people, and comes into conflict with an equally greedy teenage preacher who controls a community sitting on top of a shit-ton of oil reserves. It's almost three hours long, long stretches with no dialogue, incredible performance from Day-Lewis, and a truly ferocious energy that comes to a boil in the last scene. I would love to see it win Best Picture, if No Country For Old Men hadn't been just a tiny bit better. As it is, I certainly won't be upset if Blood takes the prize.

So, yeah...you should see it. Hope all is well!
