I don't know, but a while ago (maybe 1998?) my sister was at summer camp in way upstate NY, and we went for visiting day. On our way up, and when we arrived in the early afternoon, it was in the 80s, possibly the high 80s. It had been even hotter in NYC, so I don't think I had socks, and I only had a hoodie with me. By the time it got dark that night, it was 40, and by the end of the evening, it had hit freezing.

Creepy.

That's when I bought my (formerly favorite) plaid woolish warm lumberjack shirt, and possibly a pair of long underwear, and some socks.
