I am looking for a house in which to live for next school year. Every landlord is looking for a year lease, so a lease would start either at the beginning of summer or at the end of summer (ish). If I am in Riverside over summer, I can earn at least $1000 / month. That would be sufficient to support my living down here in Riverside. If I wait till

I would stay in Riverside if I were you. You can have both your girlfriend and an income? And some friends? Sounds good to me, no question. Remember you can always visit San Jose for a week or two during the summer or over other breaks (which is what I plan on doing, since I'm staying down in Santa Barbara this summer).

Also keep in mind that if you move into a place down there at the beginning of summer, you won't have to transport everything to and from San Jose. Think of the hassle that will save.
