Just a quick quote I like:

"Regardless of whether your candidate wins or loses by more than one vote, your vote was irrelevant. In the highly unlikely circumstance that your candidate happens to win by the one vote you cast, the courts will arbitrarily determine the outcome."

Can't argue with that.

Sure, you can argue with that, extensively. :)

But that's why I like following local elections. Your vote matters there.

Me, I have trouble arguing with it. And I normally love to argue.

Though I take the tact that 'not voting' is a vote itself. I dislike McCain, I loathe Obama. And the times a third party candidate actually made a difference (most noticeably through Nader), the general reaction was that of utter horror. And whenever the vote is close, the courts tend to get involved.

"Vote in the hopes of a landslide" isn't all that persuasive to me.
