I passed my promotion board! Yippee for me.

So for the second time a wife of, or actual member of the executive branch has kept me from getting to where I need to go. Today, the Vice President and his wife are here to welcome soldiers back from Iraq, which is a good thing, except for when you keep me from getting to work. Didn't really get to have a weekend this week. The last two days I have been covering the return of the XVIII Airborne Corps from Iraq. Yesterday was a large group of about 200 soldiers and today the command group and corps colors came in. So yesterday was the deadline for me to get the 400 pounds of stuff I brought over from Germany that was staying in temporary storage. Last week I went to the transportation office and begged them for some more time because I have no place to put it and to my surprise, I received word today that I have until May 31st to find a place to put it.
