Well, I found out where I am heading after AIT. According to my AKO account I will be stationed at Ft. Irwin in California. I don't know which unit I will be with when I get there, but apparently I'll be attached to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. I got my cell phone back last night. Good times. Expect phone calls.

There's a crazy Jewish girl dancing to oldies in my classroom right now. Getting on livejournal on the Defense Department's dime is pretty sweet. Today needs to hurry up though.

Yesterday I took my first test on Public Affairs for my broadcast journalism class. I was one of only four to pass the test out of a 24 person class. I'm pretty happy about that. I think I know how to better study for my next test now. Hopefully I'll keep this up ( Read more... )

Israeli and Lebanon going to war = Bad news for me.

Hopefully it will calm down before it gets out of hand, but you can never tell in the Mideast.

Well, we have our first test coming up this Friday. I'm not really looking forward to it. So far, the Public Affairs section of the course has been a huge base of information and tomorrow I will have to make sure I have it all memorized so I can pass. Weekends here are not all that fun. We have to get up early and head to formation and then we have another formation later on and then another formation after that. Yesterday I had my first full day of classes at the Defense Information School. We start class at around 8 and get finished at about 4 in the afternoon. It seems like a long time, but every 40 minutes we get a ten minute break and also a longer break for lunch, so the time goes by pretty quickly. Well, yesterday I graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. This is the first opportunity I have had to use the internet in two months, so I figured I would type in a quick entry before I head out.
