I was praying to the gods for Mexico to beat Argentina today, and they almost did.

Ah well. Germany can win this thing. I've said it for months, and now people are beginning to believe.

Anybody wanna watch the games tomorrow? Call me if you do. One starts at 10. Another follows at 2pm.

if my whole family hadn't picked the worst possible day to convene in our backyard, i woulda come over. my aunts and uncles and grandma...it was great. yeah. like so great i was glad i wasn't somewhere swimming or somewhere drinking beer and hooting for soccer. i was just where i wanted to be: sweltering in my parents' backyard, sipping on tea, listening to the same stories i've heard again and again, staring at the cancerous hole that has settled into my uncle's left cheek.
