I dropped my laptop, and now there's a huge crack through the screen.

It's pretty much unusable now.

Yes, although this is apparently so expensive that I may as well buy a new laptop.

Can you believe what my stepdad did? He bought me a $200 flatscreen monitor to use until the semester is over.

That's what I'm using right now.

Because of where I've set it up, it's a lot harder for me to mooch internet access now.

remember that dell commercial where they're playing music so loud that the laptop shimmies itself off the desk? i did that except replace "playing music so loud that the laptop shimmies itself off the desk" with drunkenly stepping on my laptop to get to my loft.

they replaced it for free.
