It's amazing how people tend to ignore the fact that, unless you have a very talented 3D team who can make elegantly detailed models and textures, most games look better at lower resolutions than at higher resolutions

Why woulden't it? Currently the GC (older models anyways) can do that, why would they completly drop it from the next generation? I was under the impression that they were not requiring developers to develope in high res.
Yeah, I think I remember hearing that Revolution would at least do 480p as baseline.
The GC can do 480p for games that support it -- which is pretty much every high-profile and first-party title. But it requires you hold down B when you start the game, and the dock (for lack of a better word) doesn't run progressive, and other such goofiness.

But that's mostly due to the fact that 3D hardware is dumb.
