I'm reading about bullying in my developmental psych class right now, and it just makes me so angry. I don't think anything bothers me more than seeing someone weaker and helpless being intentionally hurt. That goes for puppies too. D= I wish I had more opportunity to do something helpful.

Ooooh.... I know what you mean. It makes me want to slap the bully around. I guess that's mean too... but, somebody has to set them straight!

But does the bullying make sense? I mean, is the book helping you understand why it happens?

It's a terrible thing, indeed, but something that can be controlled a lot better than it is..

Yeah, but it's actually really hard to stop. The most effective programs are comprehensive ones that involve the whole school on some level (as well as parents). It takes a lot of time/money/effort. Peers are also more effective at stopping bullying than adults are, but that takes kids who are willing to intervene or stand up to the bully.

There are a lot of complex factors that go into making a person who they are. Maybe some bullies were hurt by their parents or something like that and so need some sympathy and help. But that's not always the case, and bullying is never okay. It just inherently makes me mad D=
