tremaine has been in Montreal for work all week. (I've had a fabulous week with werellama in the meantime.) He's coming home today, and he suggested that we catch a movie tonight. Looking at the paper, I see that there are several that I'd like see; but as always, I can't decide. Help?

I just saw The Departed with a friend. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT acting, and EXCELLENT twisty storyline. Lots of good realistic action and violence.

Note: If gore bothers you, don't see the movie. It's not as though it dwells on the gore, but even flashing past it, you must acknowledge that yes, shooting a man in the head WILL splatter across the wall behind him.

Beyond that, I don't know if there's a single thing I can say that isn't in the movie's favor.

Violence in movies does not bother me. I'm sure I'll see this movie eventually.

I saw the Departed, and didn't really find it a good kind of "date" movie, really. It's horribly graphic, and about halfway through, I'm getting so paranoid MYSELF that I could have hit Martin Scorcese.

Granted, I thought all of the acting in Departed was quite good, but the endless paranoia just got on my nerves in the last hour.

The rest of the movie I haven't seen, but I am horribly tempted to go see The Prestige. Next on that list would be The Illusionist, as I've heard it's a great movie.
