Summary: Yamada's dying. He just wants to help Daiki move on.
Yamada hugged Daiki closer to his chest as a single stray tear made its way down his cheek.
“Not yet,” he whimpered softly. “Not yet.”
He closed his eyes, thinking about how everything had started just a year ago.
--
“Ne Daichan, is there anyone you like?” Yamada asked casually, trying to not sound like he was too concerned.
Daiki gave him a small smirk and nudged him in the ribs.
“Why? Is there someone you like?” he asked back.
“E-eh?” Yamada stuttered, shocked. “No! No, of course not!”
“Why not?” Daiki asked with a small pout and it was all Yamada could do to not jump onto the older boy and pinch his cheeks.
“Why not?” Daiki probed again when Yamada did not answer.
“I don’t know,” Yamada replied, shrugging and looking away. He was afraid that the truth might burst out if he continued staring at the other JUMP member.
“That’s sad,” Daiki mumbled and something in his voice made the younger one look at him again. “Because I like Yamachan…”
“Eh?!” Yamada exclaimed, fully looking at the older boy now. “Are you serious?”
Daiki’s face became red with embarrassment as he opted to look at the floor instead.
“Why would I lie about something like that?” he whispered, barely audible.
“I like Daichan too,” Yamada admitted, turning his own eyes to the ground as he felt Daiki looking at him.
“Really?” Yamada was brimming with joy inside at how happy Daiki sounded, but that simple question was all that it took for his own face to burn the same crimson of Daiki’s face just a few seconds ago.
“Of course, I wouldn’t lie about something like,” Yamada replied and he was tackled to the ground by the BEST member.
“Does that mean you’re going to be my boyfriend?” Daiki asked, grinning up at Yamada in a childish manner.
“Will you be mine then?” Yamada shot back, a small smile gracing his features.
“Of course,” Daiki replied with a soft smile.
--
“Yamachan, stop reading your manga.” Daiki stood up from where he was perched on the chair and strode over to Yamada’s bed.
“Just a few more chapters…” Yamada’s attention was all on the book.
Daiki felt annoyed, more at himself than at Yamada actually, because he was supposed to the guy (since he was older), so why was he the one feeling all jealous and angered because of a stupid manga? He pouted, glaring at the book in Yamada’s hair. It was all its fault.
“Ne Yamachan, talk to me,” he demanded, not caring that he was being pretty much like Ryutaro when he was throwing a tantrum.
“I told you Daichan, just a few more chapters…” Yamada’s eyes never left the book. Daiki contemplated setting all of Yamada’s manga on fire, but that was stupid and immoral. Definitely immoral.
“Yamachan~” Daiki whined but he was ignored this time. With a sigh, he eyed the manga evilly. Suddenly a thought came into his mind. He smirked. If Yamada was not going to pay attention to him, he was just going to have to make him. Quickly, he snatched the manga out of Yamada’s hand. Ignoring Yamada’s shriek of outrage, he hurriedly ran to the other corner of the room.
“Give it back to me,” Yamada all but demanded but Daiki shook his head, a sinister smirk on his face.
“No way.”
Without saying another word, Yamada lunged forward in an attempt to snatch his beloved manga back. However, since Daiki already anticipated that, he dashed back to the other side of the room. Without wasting another second, Yamada turned and pounced onto Daiki, causing them to both roll on the ground. Yamada ended up on top of the other, with their lips only a few centimeters apart.
Yamada stared into the older one’s eyes, feeling a new sense of nervousness consuming him. He thought that he had already gotten use to dating Daiki and that he had already conquered all the anxious feelings he had felt when they first started. Now he knew that he could never truly get over them.
“Daichan… can I…”
Without giving Yamada a response, Daiki reached up and gave Yamada a peck on the lips before pulling back, a shy smile adorning his face. Yamada smiled and bent down.
--
“Daiki, are you sure it’s alright?” Yamada asked tentatively, closely watching Daiki’s face which was only illuminated by the moonlight. Yamada thought that his lover never looked more beautiful.
“Yea, I’m sure Ryosuke,” Daiki muttered softly, running a hair through Yamada’s soft brown locks. “I trust you.”
And when Yamada first pushed into him, Daiki was all the more certain that this was right.
--
“Daiki, I’m the guy…” Yamada mumbled, glaring at Daiki through his bangs.
“We never agreed on that Ryosuke!” Daiki shot back a glare.
Yamada wanted to retort but then he realised that the older one was right. They never actually agreed who the man was in their relationship.
“But I topped you first!” Yamada said instead, not liking the way Daiki’s eyes got fierier.
“That’s because I let you!” Daiki said, lips slowly turning into a pout.
“I’m manlier than you,” Yamada pointed out and before Daiki could open his mouth, he continued. “I have more muscles than you, I’m stronger than you and I’m taller than you.”
“By a centimeter or less,” Daiki snapped. “Or maybe you measured your height wrongly.”
Yamada rolled his eyes. They could have this discussion all day, and this was not the first time.
“And I don’t pout all the time.”
“But you do.”
Yamada stood up and walked over to Daiki and kissed him, hard and passionate, feeling Daiki melting against him as he wrapped his arms around Yamada’s neck.
“That’s why I’m the guy,” Yamada whispered into Daiki’s ear afterwards, smirking as he felt Daiki trembling against him.
--
“This is totally unfair,” Yamada repeated for the thousandth time.
Daiki ignored that comment and sat on the bed. He glared at Yamada.
“It’s your fault.”
“This will be considered rape,” Yamada stated, eyeing the ropes binding him in distaste.
“No it won’t,” Daiki insisted, smirking as he covered Yamada’s lips with his own. He pulled back slightly. “Not if you’re willing.”
And Yamada hated it when Daiki was right.
--
“Ne…” Yamada said the next day as he scooted over to sit next to Daiki.
“Yea?” Daiki asked, not looking up from the book he was reading.
“I’m still the man right?” Yamada asked, looking at the BEST member with hopeful eyes.
Daiki looked up at Yamada. He laughed when he saw Yamada’s face, and he laughed even more when Yamada’s expression morphed into one of annoyance.
“What are you laughing at?”
“You’re so adorable,” Daiki replied as he gave Yamada a quick peck on the lips.
“So I’m still the man right?” Yamada asked, giving Daiki another soft kiss.
“Fine you big baby,” Daiki said, giving Yamada a soft smile. “But I’m still topping sometimes.”
“Deal.”
--
Yamada could not control it anymore as tears flowed down his cheeks rapidly. He tried to keep silent but a few sobs escaped his lips.
“Ryo… what’s wrong?” Daiki murmured. Yamada panicked but then he realised that his boyfriend was practically still asleep. He took a deep breath.
“Nothing Daiki, go back to sleep,” he said, keeping his voice calm and steady.
“Mm… you sleep too… Work tomorrow… you’ll... tired…” Daiki continued mumbling before falling back asleep.
“Stop worrying so much about me,” Yamada whispered, tracing a hand over Daiki’s face. “What are you going to do when I…” Yamada choked on his own words, not daring to say more. He placed a soft kiss on Daiki’s forehead. “Not yet… please…”
