The Bible can be twisted any way you want, to serve any purpose you want. What people forget, though, is that the old testament is merely for history purposes, and the new testament is what one should use to model their life, should they choose to lead such a spiritual existence. But even the new testament can be twisted to serve any purpose. For example: Why do people choose to follow Jesus? What do the facts show about him? He was the product of a rape, born illegitimate in a homeless environment, grew up in a poverty-stricken and broken home, was bi-racial, became a run-away at 12, and became a gang leader. His alcohol problem was so severe that he even turned water to wine, and in 33 years there's no mention of a woman, so he was obviously gay, which is the REAL reason they crucified him...something that hasn't changed yet! The only thing he had going for him was that he was one hell of a fisherman, and could feed his friends well, which is why he had so many followers.
