I can't believe how pregnant I am now. I'm 35 weeks out of 40, although going into labor any time between 38 and 42 weeks is normal. My belly is huge. My breasts are comical. :( such a bummer. probably not much of a consolation, but my program also saw record applications, and only accepted some 2% of the applicants. ridiculous. it doesn't speak about you as a scholar that you didn't get in. there were just people with MAs from great schools who were harder to deny.

with how much i struggle in school (i could never do kid & school..), i wonder if having a kid and waiting with school might not be the most beautiful option anyway. i hope it feels like nothing else.

Congratulations on your soon to be born baby! I remember the days of our first clearly. Also, sorry to hear about the PhD program rejections. Academics can be such asses. I should know - I am one and I can't believe the arrogance and attitude I see on a daily basis. But if getting a PhD is important to you, I have no doubt you'll find a way to get there.

Wow, people are assholes on the internet. I'm sorry. Glad you're well, and rejection is awful, but seriously, be proud of what you've accomplished and what's coming for you soon. Screw 'em. :)
