A few days ago I decided to write a short essay on death/the meaning of life. I haven't finished it yet, but when I do I'll post it in my journal

I'm doing fine other than the fact that I got majorly sunburned walking 10 miles earlier in 85 degrees and savage humidity, and I can't stand up without getting dizzy and having to grab onto something...but that's nothing new. If ONLY it had been windy down here today! :P
I remember a while back you were talking about trying to lose weight - how's that working out for you, if you don't mind me asking?
Hmm well I can't fast because of my boyfriend but I managed to lose 4 pounds this week, so I'm down to 104 - 5 pounds to go until my short term goal. :)
windy & rainy.. :( not so great actually. relationship problems. had a fight in a room with my boyfriend.. there was another guy & gal int he room.. we were fighting about guys vs girls & it got a lil personal. he called me a drama queen and i said jameas you're a major drama queen and he got pissed and blah blah blah.. stormed off & wont answer his phone.. he's offline now. anyway, long story short. cruddy. not such a great day, but its spring break now. well tomorrow is first day of it.. so i'll enjoy my five day weekend while it lasts.
i'd be very interested in reading that essay. i really like writing essays but i can never think of what to write about / how to get started & such. i never did one that was not for school. have any tips on how to get started? i cant seem to get the inspiration for poetry anymore either.
eh this is a really long comment sorry =P first time i commented in a while though. how are you? =)
It's windy here as well. Guy Vs. Girl discussions tend to get a little personal, unless you're chatting about guys with your girlfriends.
Tips on writing, hmmm... Well, I wrote a novel when I was 14-years-old and I had a publisher. I've always been interested in writing so it's quite a natural thing for me. I gave it up for a while to pursue Opera/Classical singing.
My advice to you is to read as much as possible. Not teen books, but a lot of poetry. The Brontë Sisters have a novel called "Poems" and it features poems by all of them. They lived long long ago. Charlotte Brontë wrote "Jane Eyre" which is a very popular novel and I recommend reading it. Shakespeare can open your mind more, you'll most likely learn new words and that's always great for writing essays and poetry. "The Odyssey" and "The Iliad" by Homer are also great novels/epic poems to read.
Try to be as creative as possible. Instead of using a common word such as but, use the word, however. Look in a Thesaurus for ideas on how to change common words to larger more
