bardsley and
wordsofastory gave me questions in the interview meme a while back.
bardsley's questions:
1 - If you could invite five people from any point in history to a party, who would you invite?
Voltaire, Oscar Wilde, Kurt Vonnegut, Dorothy Parker, Mark Twain. That was easier than I thought it would be. It'd be damn fun but I bet I'd be exhausted afterward!
2 - What role does religion or spirituality play in your life?
I'm not religious, per se, but I believe very much in something greater, something more. Buddhism fits my view of the world best, which is why I have a few Buddhist icons. I think if I ever actually subscribe to an actual belief system, I'll end up a Buddhist.
3 - In what ways is your present career similar to your ideal career?
It keeps me busy and creative, and I work with great people who I love seeing every day.
4 - What is your favorite place to be alone?
Lately it's in a coffee shop. I like the quiet and the clickety-clack of the keys. Plus this hardly ever happens, so it has the added bonus of novelty.
5 - Of all the people in the Weiss Kreuz universe, who would you least like to crash on your couch for a week?
Schuldig. By far. I wouldn't want him on my couch for an hour.
wordsofastory asked:
1. What's your favorite piece of art that you own?
Oh, that's tough. I have a tiny little print I still haven't framed or mounted that I absolutely adore, and some pieces my husband and I did that have tremendous sentimental value-- my husband's is a line drawing of a rose, and mine is a watercolor painting of a pumpkin I did the fall my grandmother died, that reminds me very much of my grandparents.
2. If you could arrange for one book (or short story, or whatever), to be made into a movie, what would you pick?
I think I'll pick a favorite book of my childhood, Old Bones the Wonder Horse by Mildred Mastin Pace. It's about Exterminator, a gangly, unattractive gelding who came out of nowhere to win the Kentucky Derby in 1917. I know, I know, there was already that horse racing movie set during the Depression, but this was a fun book about an awesome horse, and would make a great kids'/YA movie about defying expectations.
Here, read about Exterminator. Plus, the book is out of print, which I think is a crime.
3. What's a talent you don't have, but wish you did?
People skills. I want to be able to charm, dammit!
4. What color(s) clothing do you like best?
Black goes with everything.
5. Does your computer have a name, and if so, what is it?
The work computer does not, nor do the home PCs (a Mac and an old 486 I probably haven't turned on in six years). The laptop is named Maten.
Yes, I am a dork.
Comment here and ask if you want questions.
