Drabbles!

What better day, when we've all been told how lame we are for writing drabbles, than today for me to pick up my drabble writing again? It's fate I say.

For satora_chan, my sad attempt at writing Crowley and Aziraphale. I wrote with the wrong prompt-- gift, instead of wish, for which I apologize deeply. I was so happy to just get something finished with them, though, that I hope you won't mind I just went with it. There is a definite wish-friendly subtext.

"I suppose it was something of a gift," Aziraphale said thoughtfully.

"The last time I went to the States," Crowley said into his glass of wine, "I saw a woman who was wearing a lime green pantsuit. She was berating her younger sister in a voice that would make most demons wince in pain. If that woman came into your store and asked if you had any Jacqueline Susann, would you still consider free will 'something of a gift?'"

Aziraphale thought it over. "Perhaps if I could persuade her to look at something by that lovely Mrs. Austen instead...."

For vom_marlowe, Gojyo/Hakkai, pretty is as pretty does (because I am not yet up to Ouran):

"What're you doin' in here?" Gojyo said, looking up at Hakkai.

"I thought we would room together." Hakkai's voice was casual, but there was an edge to it. Maybe only Gojyo could hear that. Gojyo kind of liked the thought, that maybe he knew Hakkai better than the others.

"Sure," Gojyo said. But he knew there was only one bed, and two of them, and....

Hakkai hesitated, a few inches back from him. Gojyo could feel his body heat.

"Sanzo's prettier," he said, and bit his lower lip hard before he could say more.

"Perhaps in the face," Hakkai answered.

For , Sanzo needs glasses:

The doctor took a small case from his pocket.

"I don't need glasses. I can see fine."

"If that were the case you wouldn't squint, and suffer the resulting headaches."

"I don't squint," Sanzo snapped.

"You do," Goku said. "Like when you read the classifieds, with those little words--"

Sanzo rubbed his throbbing temples. "I'll try them. But if they don't work, the temple's getting its money back. Including the consultation fee."

"That is acceptable, Lord Sanzo."

Sanzo snatched the case. "Now get out of here." Before Goku starts talking about the personal ads.

And last in this batch, for emungere, Koryuu and Koumyou, snow, as I still haven't seen the new Casino Royale.

"What is it?" Koryuu asked, reaching his hand out. "It's wet."

"Snow," Koumyou replied. The smoke from his pipe gave a shimmer of heat; the flakes almost dissolved in the warmth. It was a pleasure to watch.

"Huh," Koryuu said, in that 'I'm not impressed' tone he reserved for things that surprised or pleased him.

"Perhaps there will be enough to make a snowman, later."

"Aren't you a little old for that, Master?"

Koumyou chuckled. "Sometimes I think I should have given you the benefits of a normal childhood, Koryuu."

Koryuu snorted. "Then who'd keep you out of the snow?"
