Rest In Peace, Hunter. I was one of those people who read Rolling Stone in the '70's for the political commentary. HST was one of the influences (thank the gods not the major one) on my youth. I'm thinking to go back and re-read some, since I understand motorcycles and political history in a way I did not then.
I think it was Travis McGee who said life is like standing on a sandbar in the ocean. Every now and then somebody gets swept away. You and I, Mr Toad, are at that time in our lives when quite a few people we know have been swept away, and when we realize that more and more of them are our comtemporaries or younger.
