Well, I believe it may have something to do with the standard passage of time, though it is - admittedly - avoidable with a small device known as a Time-Turner. But since I doubt you have one - since you'd otherwise be aware of time's general existence - I'll stick with my first answer.

I also recommend getting inside as soon as you can, lest you freeze to death.
