I know, I look a lot different.

I don't think dad or anyone ever thought we'd be working at the front of a war. I remember... I don't remember it clearly, but some of us didn't think we should get involved in a war at all. We were mercenaries, but we weren't those kind of mercenaries.

Ah, so you finally remembered Princess Elincia, huh? And yes, she is a princess, not a prince.

Actually...Soren and I talked about that ages ago, and came up with two possibilities. Either the knights were wiped out, or Daein's forces were just too large and we were hired to bolster the Crimean army's numbers.

I don't know. Depends on the circumstances, really. This conversation was a while back, though, and I'm fairly sure it's the former now. Why else would we be serving the princess directly? Or be petitioning Begnion for aid?
