hi honey! twelve days can be normal. when i wasn't on birthcontrol i usually had my period for 5 days and i had friends who had them for 7 and 8 days and then i had one friend who was lucky to have her period for 2 days (which i do now too, thanks to bc pills). a normal period is 2-8 days and they can be longer due to a lot of factor, like stress. and maybe you're bleeding for a longer time since you had an abortion recently? that and stress and other health factors could cause you to have a longer period. 12 days is not too far off of 8 days which is in 'the norm'... also, did you get on birth control recently? then that could be it too, my gyno told me when i first got on the pills that due to the hormones i could end up with long periods the first few months and spotting was very normal too, during the whole month, not just right after the period. and she told me some women are unlucky to bleed for 2 weeks and then have no periods for 2 weeks and then bleed for 2 weeks again and so on... so you shouldn't worry too much, but it
